Foundation Grants
There are thousands of local foundations through the United States, and we can guarantee that there are some that fund in your area! If you're interested in getting support in how to fundraise from foundations, please contact Molly Wicker and we'll help you strategize your approach using best practices in foundation fundraising.
The submission of funding requests to foundations must be approved by Dawn Strauss, Braver Angels' Chief Development Officer, and Braver Angels' Director of Finance, Kira Barone, before submitting the grant to the foundation, to make sure it meets the needed requirements for Braver Angels as a non-profit.
Sample Proposals
The following are sample proposals for local field funding:
Events in a state: Proposal
Utah Workshops: Proposal
Michigan Workshops: 1-page overview
Ohio Debates & Workshops at Educational Institutions: Proposal
Ohio Braver Communities: Foundation 1-pager, full proposal
Grant Stewardship
If a foundation grant is won, Braver Angels follows a grant onboarding and stewardship process. For field leaders who are involved in executing a foundation-funded grant, those funds will be kept separate in BILL Spend & Expense (formerly Divvy).
